The Monstrance Travels the Diocese for the Centennial Year
As part of the dual celebration of the Year of Eucharistic Revival and the 100th Anniversary of the Diocese of Raleigh, both Holy Trinity by the Sea Mission and Holy Redeemer by the Sea Church will be hosting the Travelling Monstrance, which holds the Holy Eucharist for Adoration. The Monstrance is being sent to every Catholic parish in our Diocese this year to remind us visibly that it is in the Holy Eucharist that we are united in our Faith. This echoes the words of St. Pope John Paul II: “Without the priests, there is no Eucharist; without the Eucharist, there is no Church.”
The Travelling Monstrance will be received at Holy Trinity by the Sea Mission during the Vigil Mass for the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 14 at 7:30 PM. The Mass will conclude with a Procession of the Eucharist and an extended period of Adoration and Prayer into the night.
Similarly, Holy Redeemer by the Sea Church will receive the Travelling Monstrance on August 15 at the 9:00 AM Mass for the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Mass will conclude with a Procession of the Eucharist and a period of silent Adoration and Prayer until the start of the 6:00 PM Mass for the Holy Day.
Everyone is invited to spend some time in prayer before the Eucharistic Lord, in whom we are fed and saved, on August 14th and 15th. Let us thank God for his gift of the Eucharist and the unity in love that we have in Jesus.
